Potassium Bicarbonate

Potassium bicarbonate is a white, odorless powder that is used to deacidify wine. It is a natural substance that is found in grapes and other fruits. Potassium bicarbonate can help to improve the taste and balance of wine by reducing its acidity. It can also help to prevent the formation of haze in wine.

 

1 tsp of potassium bicarbonate per gallon of wine can reduce the acidity by about 0.1%. The exact amount of acidity that is reduced will depend on the acidity of the wine and the other ingredients in the wine.
